HERITAGE – THE ONLY VIRASAAT ONE REALLY HAS !

“Modern man’s” most urgent need is to discover the reality and value of the inner subjective world, to discover the symbolic life! Life which was once experienced by our own ancestors. One need to understand own culture. Just for example; Japanese culture has tremendous impact on Tadao Ando. The small detailing whether it would be on floor, ceiling or furniture the connectivity and belongingness of architect towards his own culture can be seen. Even Charles Correa while designing PMI residence headquarters left bold statement on street of Newyork by placing a door heavily crafted by Rajasthani artists.
We have so many examples of architects who consciously made efforts and learnt or understood the soul of their culture and heritage, where they grew. All this mentions brings some sense to my title.
How legendary architects achieved belongingness towards their culture?
May be they chiseled their thoughts on every step and explored every idea, observed everything and traveled a lot. References say they studied and experienced their own land, the tradition and the architecture of their own place. Mainly architecture because it is the museum of time and space, it preserves and contains the era of its construction. What must this study have left them with?
I assume may be EXPERINCES! Yes, after all what else is required on that ultimate journey.
BAGGAGE FULL OF EXPERIENCES ON THE JOURNEY TOWARDS UNKNOWN!
